choose friendly, brush happy

So as I try to eliminate all plastic from my life, I started to go through all the products I have in my house that I buy on a regular bases. I came to the shocking realization that almost all products, come in, are wrapped with, or entire the packaging is made of PLASTIC. Not to be a downer, but the world will produce over 380 metric tonnes this year. Plastic pollution effects everything on Earth. The Oceans and Seas are seeing heartbreaking consequences of plastic that ends up in the ocean. Paul and I were walking on Jones beach this past Fall, and he turned to me and said, "I always thought you were over exaggerating the plastic in our oceans, but this is ridiculous. We are coming out next time and just picking up the garbage." Until you see it first hand, it is staggering the amount of waste that the ocean has put back on the sea shore, everything from shoes and flip flops, to bottle tops, bottles, plastic bags, feminine products, ribbons, string, 6-pack holders, balloons, bulk heads, the list goes on, and on, and on. So as I look through my house of plastic, the toothpaste tube just sits there on the bathroom sink staring at me. Something we all use everyday, several times a day, take for granted of, and easily discard when we are done. because it is empty, it is done. I did a little research and in the average lifetime we will use, per human 272 tubes of toothpaste. That doesn't seem like alot of tubes, but the average tube for toothpaste takes 500 years to bio-degrade (mouth drop). Back to back, it will take 22,260 years for one humans consumption of toothpaste to bio-degrade (again, jaw on the floor). So my tube of toothpaste was no longer on my list of products to buy, because there are hundreds of solutions to the use of this plastic. I then did some more research and found "hello" anti plaque + whitening toothpaste tablets©. I will share their philosophy and products.
